Budget Based Nightmare

The great deal I got on my 8'x24' modular turns out to be not so great. I finally have it gutted and have discovered some water damage inside the walls. Specifically, both the windows were poor-planed additions, more suited for a camper trailer and in desperate need of some weather-proofing. I straightened the frame with little trouble, but while spending time under the frame, I discovered more poor-planning in the 2'x4' cross-supports as they bow under the weight of the walls. None of this is too major, but all of it will end up taking more time as well as more money.

Things are going more slowly than I had initially thought. So far, all I've done is straighten the frame, gutted the building, and semi-leveled everything (still need to shim). Oh yea, and I've done a pretty good job of making my to-do list much longer. I'm still planning on being able to melt some glass in November though, just in time for the cold and snow.

Even though this post makes things sound depressing, I am still very excited about this project. I can't wait to get into the construction, and I can't stop thinking about how sweet it will be when I'm finally sitting there, zoned-out as I pump out my prodo.
